low country boil (but in TN)

my family and i were able to get together one last time to say 'see you later' before our trip out and we did an 'ode to savannah with a low country boil and recipes from paula deen's cookbook. it turned out delicious and everyone had a great time together. thanks to everyone for coming in and spending the day with aven and i, we love you all very much and miss you terribly. counting down until next time... until then, much love to all and SEE YOU SOON~ amanda

** my aunts and my mom, aunt betina and ms. belinda, and finally our family mascot TONIC.

biltmore, april 2010

one of our favorite places is bilmore in asheville NC. it's absolutely beautiful this time of year with the tulips in bloom and i would go just for the BBQ! we had a great time, chilly but the weather was gorgeous-

aven's first haircut

while we were in TN, aven had her first haircut and she was a pro! she pranced right in (where doesn't she prance?) and carried the booster seat over to the salon chair and hopped right in. the lady was great and aven had such a fun time! my mom saved the locks from my first hair cut and they are a perfect match, too funny! hopefully aven won't try and dye her hair black all the time like i did :)

Mighty 8th Air Force Museum

aven and i had a great time at the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum. It was mainly focused on the events of the Holocaust and Pearl Harbor, but they had a lot of really interesting artifacts and exhibits. One of my favorite was the chapel that is on the premises. there is a Bible inside from 1870! hope everyone is doing well, miss you!
love to all~

chuck e. cheese

my mom and i took aven to chuck e. cheese one night and it was so fun to watch how she's grown and can play the games by herself now. she rocks at skeeball, just like me! she had a blast watching me play the basketball game, every time i made a shot she would clap and yell "go, mommy! great job" with a high five. if only she thinks i'm that cool in a few years!!

snow!!!

aven and i made an unexpected trip back up to TN right after new years and this was the first time aven and tonic have ever seen snow. aven was not happy that she had to wear a hat or a coat and tonic was running around rooting his nose through it. he looked like a white dog, he was covered!! aven had a blast blowing the snow off the back deck. hope everyone has had a wonderful new year!!
